NEXT MEETING: June 5, 2009 Rose's House
MARCH 2008 - The months are flying by again and we are not organized. The horse show is moving along but I am disappointed
to say the club isn't. So, we'll have a meeting on Saturday, 4/5/8, and I hope those interested in keeping this club alive
will be there. Please email me if you plan to attend the meeting. Thanks, Grace
JANUARY 2008 - Group of show committee members to begin working on Premium Book and Schedule. We need to
have this completed in February. Draft will be sent out for approval once the known changes are completed.
Please check back - we WILL have a February "Kick Off" meeting!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well - 2007 consisted of regular meetings with tiny turnout. Due to this, I have not posted any new minutes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAY 2006 - No meeting due to lack of participation at previous meetings. Garage Sale and Schooling so were held.
Special thanks to the Hadorns, Doyle Wilson, Michelle Winstone, Tamara Zilar, Karen Holford, Carol Benedict for participating
in these events.
JUNE MEETING IS CRUCIAL. Please plan to attend Jun 24th at Diamond Jim's. 51st between Yale and Harvard.
FEBRUARY 2006 : Meeting held at Mazzio's @ The Farm. Once the music was turned down, it was
a great location! Thanks Winstone's for hosting this meeting. Recap follows:
* Treasurer's report was provided by Rose Morris
* May 6th was confirmed as date for Garage Sale even though it conflicts with the Regional Dressage show in Shawnee.
* April 8th Schooling Show - still don't have a location. Places we need to check out are Bixby, Owasso/Collinsville,
Victory Pass, Flying G and Broken Arrow. Mingo Stables was also mentioned.
* It was discussed to blow off hosting the May 20 show and commit to taking Morgans to other local shows to promote the
breed.
* Contact Harness club to let them know our carriage is Open this year. ( I just got an email from Pat Gillespie and
she is going to add this to the Harness Association web page.)
* Dressage Ring - Julie checked with Green Country Dressage and we can rent their ring for $50/day. Several are
concerned about the manpower needed if we don't use Showsecretary.com to set up ring. etc. Jim Hadorn graciously volunteered
his time. We've tabled this discussion until we have more input and members present.
Jim also said the $400 may be better this year than coming up with the peoplepower.
* Julie has negotiated with Jennifer Adolph to be our show vet. Thank you JULIE!!! She will not charge the
show.
* Grace brought up that in October we suggested adding to our Prize money the amount that AMHA gave us last year
as regional ($2400). The concensus at this meeting was to NOT increase the prize money for 2006.
* Show Details :
- It was discussed that we may need to check on renting furniture since the chairs we've used
in the past are not available.
- Place the ribbon table outside center ring to add more room.
- Refridgerator for center ring to save wear and tear on Nancy! Kevin said Sam's had one
that didn't have a freezer that held more. Motion made and seconded to buy, for $100 or less, a fridge from Sam's. Kevin agreed
to handle it for us.
* Show schedule is virtually complete.
* USEF Letter - we received a letter from USEF requesting information about the incidents at the 2005 TSC Show. Kevin
Dolan has responded to the letter.
Members present : Doyle Wilson, Kevin & Michelle Winstone, Karen Holford, Jim & Julie Hadorn, Grace Jacobus,
Tamara Zilar and Rose Morris.
JANUARY 2006 - I can summarize since this was about a 6 hour meeting! Thank you to all who attended!
* 2006 Garage Sale - May 6th at Julie Hadorn's Home. Meeting will be the previous week and items can be delivered at
that meeting.
* Schooling/Fun Shows - agreed to dates of Apr 8 and May 20 for local shows. Change April date to include less
classes but offer clinics with Del Sullins and other trainers intermingled with the classes (The May 20 date conflicts with
another local show and may be changed). Locations - Checking on Bixby, Collinsville, Flying B, Sand Springs and Broken Arrow.
Creek County is too expensive.
* USEF Show Sponsorships. Agreed to the following amounts:
Wheatstate $100, Heritage $100, Grand Nationals $350.
* Show Manager for TSC: Top Choices are Ann Taylor, Barbara Burkes and Richard Sereni. Dressage choices are Sue Malone-Casey,
Fran Dearing and Joan Durnell. We hope to have Guy Brown make final decision and arrange for contract.
*YIPPPEE-- we counted all the ribbons and streamers and are ready to prepare Hodges ribbon order for the year in time
for the 10% discount!
* Worked on show schedule and it is close to complete
* Karen Holford has offered to be TSPCA liason.
* Tamara has offered to store Silent Auction items.
* A suggestion was made to offer TSPCA 10% of Silent Auction in return for manning it.
* Add T-Shirt order to entry form.
* Add bedding order to entry form.
* Add Barn Party check-off to order
* Keven Winstone will be in charge of Barn Party!
* Veterinarian - Julie has contacted Jennifer Adolf, Tulsa Equine Veterinary Services to handle the the 2006 show
* Show Manager - we agreed to hire Guy Brown for a cost of $1000 per show day.
* Dressage ring - we agreed to not renew with Showsecretary.com for their dressage coordination and ring. We began searching
to purchase a dressage ring for $400 or under.
DECEMBER 2005 - We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Party and Chinese Gift exchange at the home of Rose Morris.
The future of the club was represented with Lynn Gwinup's brand-new girl, Syndney; Cheyenne and Conner Uptain; Melissa Montgomery's
little one, Bonnie and Mr. Kristian Kam. It was wonderful have the kids join us.
Elections were held, but results will not be final until all members are allowed to vote. (So far, 12/22, NO ONE
else was emailed or sent me ballots!!). For the non-contested positions, officers are Grace Jacobus, President, Kristy
Uptain, secretary and Rose Morris, treasure.
